Cancer Research Relay for LIfe 2013!
I took part in this on saturday and if you have seen my previous blog you will know it lasted for 24 hours, most of which i spent walking, running or standing so by the time i got home after it my feet and legs were in agony and they actually still are 2 days later!! hahah :P
It was great fun and i got to dress up as 'Where's Wally?' because my team was called the Wally's :P we had to wear bright blue shiny leggings, a red and white stripy top, a red and white bobble hat and round rim glasses - in other words we looked mega cool :D hahaha .
In total, our team managed to raise £2000 for cancer research UK but the whole relay which consisted of 22 teams managed to raise £179,236!!!!! This is an amazing amount of money which will be put to good use by the scientists who work for cancer research uk :)
On top of this, one of my best friends who is a singer sang Hero and Wind Beneath My Wings at the Candle of Hope ceremony which took place at 11pm that night. This ceremony took place so we could remember those who had lost their battle and those who are still fighting. It was very sad but it was a really nice ceremony. I was so proud of my friend, she did so well to sing in front of everyone and sound amazing!
A very productive relay as far as i'm concerned!!
