We thought so too and exchange programs are very fun!! My family and I did them for about 10 years with Japanese kids and some of the youngest kids in the program were about 12-13 years old english don't eorry about it's more of a culture thing anyways and the program we didpeoplr link had a "school" to help with English and learn... It's expensive but way worth it in the end

thats a cool idea! I wanna do an exchange year in the USA when I am older, but its very expensive and I am a bit afraid, cause its so far away from my home and my parents and my english isnt so good...

when my best friend moved away to berlin last year I was also sad about it, but now we see each other every week on skype and at the holidays I drive with my parents to berlin to visit her for 3 weeks. I am so happy about to see her again! :D
